CM Borelli Named to NYC Council Land Use Committee & Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises

Council Member Joe Borelli is joining the New York City Council’s Committee on Land Use, considered the Council’s most important committee, as well as the Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises. Borelli will now have an outsized role in deciding controversial re-zonings, like last month’s Industry City drama, when New York City lost a project that promised 20,000 new jobs at a time when the City sorely needs it, and the upcoming proposal in St. George to build two 25 story high rise towers.

“It’s an honor to join the Council’s Committee on Land Use and I look forward to using this role to make sure Staten Islanders are represented and their voices are heard clearly when once-in-a-generation projects propose to reshape communities,” said Council Member Joe Borelli.
