STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Local bus riders will soon have the opportunity to offer valuable feedback regarding the borough’s ailing bus network.
New York City Council Speaker and Acting Public Advocate Corey Johnson will wrap up his five-day, five-borough tour, encouraging residents to take the 2019 Bus Rider Survey, this Friday at the Eltingville Transit Center at 4 p.m.
The survey, which can be found and completed online, looks to compile comprehensive data regarding why residents use the buses, how satisfied they are with their current service and possible ways to improve upon it.
“Improving the city’s transportation system is going to take a lot of hard work and careful planning over the next several years. It will also take coordination between the city and state, but our most important resource for creating those plans is you – the rider. If the system isn’t working for you, it isn’t working for New York City,” according to the survey site.
Johnson, who will be joined Friday by Councilman Joe Borelli (R-South Shore), began his five-borough tour in the Bronx on Monday, before traveling to Brooklyn on Tuesday, Manhattan on Wednesday, and Queens on Thursday, ultimately concluding the tour on Staten Island on Friday.
A similar survey was rolled out in early January, when Johnson was joined at the St. George ferry terminal by Councilwoman Debi Rose (D-North Shore) and Borelli to discuss citywide subway and rail service.
