Today, Council Member Joseph C. Borelli announced the schedule of the annual Movies in the Park festival, which screens popular children’s movies at local parks. This will be the twelfth annual Movies in the Park hosted on the South Shore.

The screening schedule for Movies in the Park 2016 is as follows:

Show dates are subject to change due to weather, and individuals can stay updated about this by following Council Member Borelli on Facebook. Movies in the Park kicks off each evening with free rides and concessions beginning at 6pm. Movie screenings begin approximately at dusk.

The Movies in the Park festival is made possible by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, and the City Parks Foundation.

Borelli is also urging everyone bring with them a non-perishable canned good that will be donated to a local food pantry.

“I’m excited to continue the annual tradition of Movies in the Park which was first started in 2005. We’ve selected some great movies that I think everyone will enjoy. This is another great reason to spend an evening in one of the South Shore’s beautiful parks” said Borelli. “Remember to bring a blanket or chair to keep comfortable!”
