{"id":211,"date":"2024-07-23T16:44:40","date_gmt":"2024-07-23T16:44:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/council.nyc.gov\/jennifer-gutierrez\/?page_id=211"},"modified":"2024-07-23T16:44:40","modified_gmt":"2024-07-23T16:44:40","slug":"universal-child-care","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/council.nyc.gov\/jennifer-gutierrez\/universal-child-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Universal Child Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Universal Childcare has been one of the key priorities for Council Member Jennifer Guti\u00e9rrez since she took office. <\/p>\n<p>She is the prime sponsor with Council Member Kevin Riley of the Universal Childcare bill in the New York City Council. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The journey to create universal child care infrastructure began with extensive research in 2022, involving discussions with over 20 organizations and 5+ municipalities worldwide. <\/li>\n<li>This laid the groundwork for the drafting phase from September 2022 to February 2023, during which multiple drafts were developed with central staff and feedback from various groups. <\/li>\n<li>By March 2023, the legislation was introduced with significant press coverage and a rally.
