Louis (D-Brooklyn)<\/strong>,&nbsp;<em>Co-Chair of New York City Council Women&#8217;s Caucus and Vice Co-Chair of the Black, Latino, and Asian Caucus<\/em>, issued the following statement after a trio of men attacked and robbed a Harlem mother near a liquor store before one of the alleged suspects brutalized her. Moments before the vicious and unprovoked assault, the victim declined their offer to purchase a bottle of wine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>STATEMENT BY COUNCIL MEMBER LOUIS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo woman should ever feel threatened or victimized for saying, \u2018NO!\u2019 It is truly disgusting that rather than respecting and protecting the women of our community, there are people who would choose to degrade another human being. This reprehensible behavior is unacceptable, and we will not tolerate it. These individuals must be held accountable and apprehended before there is another victim.
