Yesterday, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a global\u00a0pandemic<\/a>.\u00a0As of this morning, there were more than 60 confirmed cases in the city and over 200 statewide.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you recently returned to New York from China, Iran, South Korea, Italy or Japan and you do not have symptoms, the Health Department requires that you\u00a0home self-monitor<\/a>.\u00a0If you are experiencing symptoms such as a fever, cough, shortness of breath, please call your doctor immediately!<\/p>\n

With health and government officials closely monitoring our response, it is important that all New Yorkers are aware of the preventative measures and changes that are underway. You can reference the\u00a0guidance<\/a>\u00a0provided in response to frequently asked questions (FAQs). Additionally, the\u00a0New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene<\/a>\u00a0has a dedicated page on the coronavirus that is periodically updated with new developments in several languages.<\/p>\n

We can help stop the spread of coronavirus by putting the enclosed helpful tips into practice everyday. Flyers are also readily available in\u00a0<\/strong>English<\/a>,\u00a0French<\/a>,\u00a0Creole<\/a>,\u00a0Spanish<\/a>,\u00a0Russian<\/a>\u00a0to name a few.
