One year ago today, I stood in the chambers of City Hall and took the oath of office to become Council Member of the 45th District — the first woman to serve in this capacity. I am in complete awe as I join my colleagues virtually for a Stated Meeting, reminiscent of the exact same order of events that took place on my very first day. 

District 45 has been through some difficult times over the past several months, but I am committed to our shared goals of better education, increased access to affordable housing, and more effective public safety.  

I will continue to advocate for the marginalized and disenfranchised, the unseen and unheard, the residents of the 45th Council District who cannot be left behind. I am thankful and proud to share some of the most memorable moments over the past year.
