Participatory Budgeting (PB)<\/strong> is a process through which local residents can decide how to allocate $1 million in city capital funding toward projects that improve their community. No one knows what our communities need best than the folks who live there. The entire PB process is transparent, equity-oriented, and community-driven, as community members propose ideas, decide what makes the ballot, and ultimately vote on which proposals to fund. Projects can include improvements to everything from schools to libraries to public housing to other public spaces. By participating, you determine the future of our community, our district, and our home.<\/p>\n

The Council\u2019s brand-new idea map<\/a> is now live! You can submit an idea now at this link<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eligible projects must be properties and\/or equipment that will be owned by the City, cost a minimum of $50,000, and have a useful life of at least five years for non-information technology projects (three-years for IT projects \u2013 e.g. tablets\/computers for schools). Capital funding covers long-term investments in infrastructure and facilities like technology upgrades, auditorium\/cafeteria upgrades, trees and tree guards, and more.<\/p>\n
