Constantinides Honors Shareing & Careing
New York City Hall – City Council Member Costa Constantinides (D-Astoria) presented Shareing & Careing with a Proclamation at today’s stated meeting in honor of the group’s twentieth anniversary.
“We honored Shareing & Careing for over twenty years of dedication and support of women diagnosed with breast cancer and other cancers,” said Constantinides. “The resources they provide help cancer survivors and their families during times of vulnerability and uncertainty. The individual and group counseling provides a dedicated outlet to help cancer survivors go through the initial trauma of diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Shareing & Careing is vital to our community and I thank them for their leadership in women’s health.”
Shareing & Careing initially formed to provide critically needed support services to women diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, they have evolved to serve the emerging needs of cancer survivors, women and men of all ages throughout the city. The group works improve medical services through early detection treatment and information about living with the effects of breast cancer.
Shareing & Careing services include cancer screenings and treatment as well as patient navigation, case management, individual and group counseling, benefit entitlement assistance, education and advocacy.
