LIFE FOR NEW YORKERS WITHOUT CITYFHEPS REFORMS

On January 9, four Local Laws removing barriers to the CityFHEPS housing voucher program went into effect, but Mayor Adams’ administration has refused to comply with the laws. If implemented, they would help keep New Yorkers facing eviction housed, provide young people in the youth shelter system with access, and reduce the city’s record-high shelter population. Since the beginning of the Adams administration, the number of eviction cases in our courts has continued to climb.
