Created February 2024<\/em><\/p>\n

The Mayor\u2019s City of Yes initiative<\/strong> seeks to amend zoning regulations to promote sustainability, support small business, and create affordable housing across the five boroughs. The Department of City Planning is currently in the second phase: Zoning for Economic Opportunity<\/strong> (ZEO).<\/p>\n

ZEO began review in October 2023. Community Boards and Borough Presidents have offered their recommendations, and the CPC held a public hearing in January. <\/p>\n

Our office has received a large number of questions regarding these proposed changes under ZEO. In an effort to promote transparency, below, you will find a presentation answering a few of the most commonly asked questions from our South Brooklyn neighbors<\/p>\n

Letters on Last Mile<\/span><\/h2>\n

On April 5, 2024, a majority of New York City Council members signed onto a letter to the Department of City Planning to demand that the city commit to regulating last mile facilities. <\/p>\n

On May 22, 2024, Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer wrote back to the City Council agreeing on behalf of the administration to develop tools to permit and regulate these facilities.<\/p>\n
