Re: Iowa Supreme Court Ruling on Same-Sex Marriage
 
“The Iowa Supreme Court's unanimous ruling that a ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional marks another important step towards the equality same-sex couples have been fighting so hard and long for.
 
“While this is a tremendous step in the cause for equal rights, we must join with advocates and redouble our efforts toward making marriage equality a reality in the state of New York.   I urge the New York State Legislature to place equal rights on their agenda and end discrimination against same sex couples by conferring the legal right to marry.
 
“I know that, soon enough, with everyone working together, New York State will join with Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa in granting same-sex couples the right to legally marry in NY State.”
