Frequently Asked Questions:
How can I contact the Black, Latino and Asian Caucus?
For more information on the ongoing work of the New York City Council's Black, Latino and Asian Caucus or to obtain copies of publications, reports and news releases, please contact our Executive Director, Chelsea-Lyn Rudder at 212-341-9583 or via e-mail at chelsea.rudder@council.nyc.ny.us.
Who are the Executive Committee Members of the Caucus?
The Executive Committee of the Caucus consists of two co-chairs, two co-vice chairs, one secretary and one treasurer. Currently the co-chairs are Council Member Robert Jackson and Council Member Maria del Carmen Arroyo. The co-vice chairs are Council Member Miguel Martinez and Council Member Larry Seabrook. The secretary is Council Member Melissa Mark Viverito and the treasurer is Council Member John Liu.
When are the Caucus' regular meetings? Where are the meetings held?
The Caucus meets twice a month following the Council's Stated Meetings. The meetings are held in the Committee Room, which is located on the second floor of City Hall.
Does the Caucus permit community presentations at their meetings?
If time permits the Caucus allows four community presentations at the second Caucus meeting of each calendar month. Please be advised that the Caucus' meetings are not hearings, they are private conferences of Council Members. Making time for community presentations is a priority as long as the presentations do not encroach upon the time that we need to process our business |
