Over 20 hours of public hearings were held at City Hall on the 2 introductions, the resolution and the preconsidered introduction, all relating to City term limits. The Governmental Operations Committee stayed both days into the evening until every person who had signed up to speak at the hearings was heard.
Legislation Reviewed at Public Hearings
Three bills were introduced at the City Council stated meeting on October 7th. A fourth bill is now a preconsidered introdution.
Introduction 845 was introduced by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Introduction 850 was introduced by Council Members Eric Gioia, John Liu,David Weprin and Bill de Blasio.
Resolution 1640 was introduced by Council Member Tony Avella.
A Preconsidered Introduction is being supported by Council Members Letitia James, Bill de Blasio and David Weprin.
Directions to City Hall
City Hall is located in City Hall Park. You can enter the plaza from either the west side of the park at Broadway and Murray Street or the east side at Park Row. You must go through security before entering City Hall so please allow for extra time and bring photo identification.
Both buildings are accessible by public transportation.
